The compression pad primarily takes over the task of sealing and damping while at the same time serving as a kind of “foam spring” to make operation of a control device more sensitive. Thin foams (here as an example Poron) with electrically insulating properties are also used in this area as a substitute for insulating foils. They also help to compensate for tolerances that protect components in the smallest of installation spaces.

As an alternative to the mechanical mounting of smart home applications, this adhesive mounting for displays can serve as a permanent adhesive bond for joining and holding components, housings and circuit boards within very confined spaces.
With their material thickness and elasticity, gap fillers compensate for tolerances, cavities and height differences between components. This enables electronic components such as printed circuit boards to be connected to housings with a defined level of compression. In a reliable and long-lasting manner, this protects components against vibration, shock loads and collision impacts.
For its customers, SCHLÖSSER is able to calculate the surface forces being applied to the components being pressed. From this, it can predict the behaviour of material with different dimensional tolerances and can also provide an appropriate solution for this. Our polyurethane and silicone foams have good residual pressure distortion properties and can maintain this level of compression reliably over a long period of time.
Our foam products have low levels of hardness, meaning that the electronics can also be held in place at very low but uniform contact pressures in the housings for the Smart Home applications of our customers, a very appropriate solution for very sensitive and fragile components. Additional lamination continues to offer our customer optimum handling during assembly of the module.
We do more than just manufacture your Technical Parts to the highest standards of quality. We also assemble, inspect and clean them reliably – for example in our ISO Class 8 cleanrooms.
