1897
CARL SCHLÖSSER realised at that time, that there was a great need for
safety fittings in gas supply and gas lighting. By founding a company, he began
to design and manufacture these fittings himself.
1905-1914
CARL SCHLÖSSER obtained various Imperial patents as well as
international patents for his inventions.
1919
To
begin with, CARL SCHLÖSSER manufactured his gaskets out of materials such as
leather, vulcanised fibre and rubber. After the First World War, he produced
gaskets beyond his own needs for the emerging industrialisation.
1928/29
At the end of the 1920‘s CARL SCHLÖSSER relocated his company to Upper
Swabian Mengen.
1930
After
the death of the company founder, CARL SCHLÖSSER is succeeded by his 30-year
old daughter Emmy Bok. In the meantime, the company has specialised itself entirely
in the production of gaskets.
1951/52
In-house
tool manufacturing is set up. Over the years, SCHLÖSSER becomes firmly
established as a big name in trade and industry.
1959
Manfred
Bok, the founder’s grandson, follows in his grandfather’s footsteps. The
company continues to develop into one of the best known manufacturer of gaskets
and stamped parts.
1994
Reinhard
Adams is appointed as managing director of SCHLÖSSER.
1994
Water
jet cutting is introduced as a further manufacturing technology.
1997
SCHLÖSSER celebrates its 100th anniversary. The management uses the
occasion together with its previous success rate to make further future investments.
1998/99
In order to open up new
development possibilities SCHLÖSSER expanded their production space with a new future-orientated building.
2001
SCHLÖSSER
becomes one of the first companies in the industry to be certified according to
ISO TS 16949 and DIN ISO 9001:2000 standards.
2004
At
the beginning of the year, SCHLÖSSER starts working with SAP.
2005
HSC
milling is introduced as a new manufacturing technology in the tool
manufacturing.
2006
SCHLÖSSER
is successfully certified according to the environmental ISO 14001 standard. .
2006
Laser
cutting is introduced as a new manufacturing technology.
2008
Rotary
stamping is introduced as a new manufacturing technology.
2009
SCHLÖSSER
opens its second production plant in Mengen.
